It has been reported that the Storm Worm Botnet currently infects between one and ten million computers worldwide. Meaning it has access to immense amounts of processing power. It apparently has access to between 1 and 10 petabytes of RAM (One quadrillion bytes, 10,000 Gigabytes or 1000 Terabytes). This therefore would make it the worlds most powerful computer in the world with more computing power than the top ten supercomputers in the world combined.

This maybe a flaky estimate from Computer Scientist Peter Gutman however it has been reported that more than 11% of the 650 million computers attached to the internet are infected with a botnet program (nytimes) which makes the claims of Peter Gutman quite possible.

From the above figures we can assume it is likely that most if not all SMEs will have at least one computer infected with a Botnet program if the company does not employ correct IT policies or maintain their Networks and Computers.
